Inhibition of the MDMX protein in breast cancer cells
The MDMX protein plays an important role in cancer growth and cancer progression. It is known, that it has an inhibitory effect on the tumor suppressor gene p53. In this project the Blattner group wants to find out how to suppress the synthesis of this MDMX protein inside MCF7 breast cancer cells and what kind of mechanism is responsible for the prevention of cancer formation. The small molecules, which are tested for their inhibitory activity, are provided by the ComPlat team. The investigations will be executed as Western-Blot and ELISA screenings.
